France - Risk of €50,000 fine

In France, the law on disability has just come of age and, at last, possible financial penalties are on the cards.

With the ordinance of September 6, 2003, public administrations whose site(s) is (are) not accessible run the risk of a fine of up to €50,000. The Autorité de régulation de la communication audiovisuelle et numérique (ARCOM) is now empowered to carry out compliance tests and issue injunctions prior to sanctions.
